SMA connector definition - computer

A fiber-optic cable connector that uses a threaded plug and socket. It was the first connector for optical fibers to be standardized. For bi-directional transmission, two fiber cables and two SMA connectors are generally used. SMA is specified by the TIA as FOCIS-1. See fiber-optic connectors and FOCIS.
