The unauthorized switching of your long distance telephone provider. Unethical marketing organizations contact the local telephone company and claim that certain customers have authorized them to handle their long distance. The company may have obtained your name from a list or spoken to you over the phone with a clever hustle whereby you said yes once to another question. See cramming.
