Rational Apex definition - computer

A comprehensive Ada development environment for Unix systems from IBM. The tools extend to Ada 95/Ada 83 development as well as support for C/C++. Rational Apex evolved from the original, proprietary hardware-based Ada environment that Rational Machines was founded on in the early 1980s. Later renamed Rational Software, IBM acquired the company in 2003. See Rational Rose.
