Rapid BIOS Boot definition - computer

An enhancement to the BIOS on PC motherboards from Intel that speeds up POST (power on self test) times at startup. At its 2002 introduction, Intel said booting was almost twice as fast as the BIOS's on competitors' motherboards. See POST and BIOS.
