plugfest

plugfest definition - computer

A test of interoperability of network devices by actually plugging them into a running network. A plugfest is more of a down-and-dirty approach in contrast to the tedious process of certification by running a variety of test programs and test equipment. If you plug a device into the plugfest, it either works or it does not.
