photo scanner
A scanner specialized for reading photographs up to 4x6". It uses the same principles as a larger desktop scanner, but is generally a low-cost, consumer-oriented device geared for digitizing home photos into the computer. Features such as resolution (dpi), image size and color depth are typically limited to pre-set controls. See scanner and photo printer.
