A PC BIOS from Phoenix Technologies Ltd., Milpitas, CA (www.phoenix.com). Phoenix was the first company to successfully mass produce the ROM BIOS for the PC, which made the PC industry possible. The BIOS enabled software designed for the IBM PC to run in non-IBM PCs. See BIOS and Phoenix Award BIOS.
