PDES definition - computer

(Product Data Exchange using STEP [STandard for the Exchange of Product Model Data]) A standard format for exchanging data between advanced CAD and CAM programs. It describes a complete product, including the geometric aspects of the images as well as manufacturing features, material properties and tolerance and finish specifications. STEP is ISO 10303.
