OpenStep definition - computer

An object-oriented development environment from Apple, which runs on Windows, Sun and HP machines. OpenStep was originally developed by NeXT Computer as part of its NextStep operating system. OpenStep was incorporated into Rhapsody and later Mac OS X as the Yellow Box programming interface (Cocoa). See NeXT, Rhapsody and Cocoa.
