OpenPGP definition - computer

(OPENPretty Good Privacy) A data encryption protocol as defined by IETF RFC 2440. It is the open version of PGP and uses a "web of trust" rather than official, centralized certificate authorities (CAs). OpenPGP lets anyone sign anyone else's public key.
