NUON
An interactive video platform from Genesis Microchip Inc., Santa Clara, CA (www.gnss.com) that is used for interactive games, educational content and movies. Originally developed by VM Labs in Mountain View, CA, the NUON Media Processor was embedded in DVD players or set-top boxes and could decode digital video and provide interaction at the same time. Despite consumer acclaim, VM Labs went bankrupt in 2002, and its NUON trademark and assets were purchased by Genesis, a leading supplier of display image processors.
