Net2Phone
A VoIP telephone service from Net2Phone, Inc., Newark, NJ (www.net2phone.com) that uses software in the user's PC to call another PC, regular phone or fax. When introduced in 1996, it used ads to supplement its low rates and did not support calls to the PSTN. Net2Phone was originally a division of IDT, a telephone reseller and ISP in Hackensack, NJ, but was spun off in 1999 as a separate company. See VoIP.
