NetShow definition - computer

The name of the original streaming media products for Windows from Microsoft. NetShow was the first to use Microsoft's Active Streaming Format (ASF) to deliver streaming media over the Internet. NetShow On-Demand provided transmission of static data. NetShow Live handled live broadcasts. NetShow was superseded by the Windows Media Player for the client and Windows Media Services for the server. See Windows Media formats and RTSP.
