MSAP definition - computer

(MultiService Access Platform) An integration device located on a carrier's premises that supports a variety of protocols. It acts like a central switch between all of the customer's communications technologies and the carrier side, which is the PSTN, the Internet and other available data networks. An MSAP supports a variety of copper (DS1-DS3) and optical (OC3-OC192) connections.
