MMCA
(MultiMediaCard Association, Beaverton, OR, www.mmca.org) A membership organization founded in 1998 to promote the MultiMediaCard (MMC) storage module used in cellphones, PDAs and other small handheld devices. The MMCA endorses the specification and develops compliance testing, while the companies that build the cards choose their own storage circuit technologies. By 2007, fourteen original members had grown to more than 150 company members, worldwide. See MultiMediaCard.
