MID
(Mobile Internet Device) Intel's moniker for a low-cost handheld device that has Internet access. The term was coined with Intel's introduction of its Atom chips in 2008, and MID devices are expected to be slimmer versions of the Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC). See Atom and Ultra-Mobile PC.
