MAR
(1) (Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher) An organization that overhauls old computers and installs a version of Windows. Depending on who uses the computers, Microsoft has various licensing arrangements for Windows 2000 and XP that are priced way below the original OEM costs for the OS.
(2) (Mozilla ARchive) A file format for packaging updates for Mozilla projects. A MAR file contains a header, various binary files and an index.
(3) (Memory Address Register) A hardware circuit that holds an address in memory of data to be processed. The address was extracted from a machine language instruction.
