Magellan

Magellan definition - computer

A disk management utility for PCs from Lotus that had its heyday in the late 1980s. Believed by many to be one of the top 10 utility programs of all time, Magellan searched for file names and indexed the text content of the PC's hard drive at lightning speed. Written in assembler, it popularized the file viewer concept. See file viewer.
