local address
The address of a resource in the computer being used. It often refers to a disk file; for example, the following path to a file is a local address: c:\xyz\abc\neatstory.doc. A local address may also refer to a lower level of hardware addressing when used to contrast the local device with its remote counterpart. See URI.
