LGMR definition - computer

(Laser Guided Magnetic Recording) A SuperDLT technology developed by Quantum that uses both sides of the tape. The recording side contains no servo tracks and is completely filled with data. The reverse side contains a specially formulated coating for an optical track, and a laser does the tracking.
