lexicographic sort
Arranging items in alphabetic order like a dictionary. Numbers are located by their alphabetic spelling, not in a separate group. Today, most technical dictionaries and glossaries place numeric entries at the beginning or back of the book, not in interspersed lexicographic order. Contrast with alphanumeric sort. See ASCIIbetical.
