Larrabee
The code name for a next-generation family of multicore chips from Intel expected in 2009. Larrabee chips are expected to have 16 cores, share a large L2 cache and include a memory controller. Also expected is a "fixed-function unit" that can be used for graphics, encryption or other purpose, turning Larrabee chips into specialized CPUs. See Tera-Scale.
