Interix definition - computer

A POSIX-based Unix subsystem from Microsoft that enables Unix programs to run natively in Windows NT/2000. Rebranded from OpenNT in 1998, Interix was a separate product until it became part of Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX in 2002. See OpenNT, Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications and POSIX.
