in-flight Wi-Fi
Internet service via wireless Ethernet (Wi-Fi) for airplane passengers with laptops and mobile devices. In 2008, airlines began again to offer Wi-Fi service after failed attempts a few years earlier. The wireless connection between plane and Internet is made via air-to-ground (ATG) towers or via satellites. See Wi-Fi.
