image stability

image stability definition - computer

(1) Refers to the steadiness of the images on a display screen, primarily pertaining to the amount of flicker that a person sees.

(2) Refers to the consistency of system software used in a computer in order to avoid additional, internal technical support. For example, if a PC vendor guarantees "software image stability" for one year, it means all drivers installed on that family of machines will remain the same for one year even though hardware components may change due to improvements in technology.
