iPod nano
A flash-based digital music player from Apple, introduced in 2005. Like larger iPod models, the nano has a color screen. Although the nano name suggests ultra-small "nanotechnology," the iPod shuffle is actually smaller. In 2008, the fourth generation nano was introduced. The thinnest and most colorful iPod ever (available in nine exterior colors), the 4G nano added an accelerometer, which like the iPhone, automatically switches the screen from portrait to landscape mode. To switch to shuffle mode, the nano only has to be shaken. See iPod.
