greenfield
A brand new installation of equipment without the requirement of integrating existing systems. Contrast with "brownfield," which is an upgrade to an existing system. Coined by the building industry to refer to clean, undeveloped land (greenfield) vs. contaminated land or land with existing structures (brownfield), the term may be used to refer to network installations.
