full-height drive
A 5.25" disk drive that measures 3.25" in height. It was the size of first-generation drives in desktop computers, but high-capacity hard drives are still made in this size. A full-height drive bay allows for the installation of one full-height drive or two half-height drives. Contrast with half-height drive.
