FTTE definition - computer

(Fiber To The telecom Enclosure) The installation of optical fiber throughout a building to a telecommunications enclosure (TE) on each floor or department. The TE serves as a distribution point to the user equipment (telephone, computer, etc.) and includes patch panels and switches. Connections to the user equipment from the TE can be optical, twisted pair or wireless. See FTTx.
