(FREE DataBase) An online music database that is used to find album and song titles for tracks on a CD. Community driven, anyone can submit and edit CD disc information in the database, although it is checked. In addition, people can set up mirrors of the freedb servers. After Gracenote's CDDB music database became a commercial venture, the existing database was turned over to freedb.
