fiber glut definition - computer

An excessive amount of fiber. It generally refers to the large amount of long distance fiber trunks that were created in the U.S. in the late 1990s, but never used after the dot-com bust. The universe goes in cycles. In time, the "fiber glut" is expected to turn into the "fiber drought."
