FeliCa definition - computer

An all-in-one identification and financial transaction chip from Sony. Coined from "felicity," which means "happiness," FeliCa cards are designed for use as passenger tickets, in-store and e-commerce transactions and employee/student IDs. Using RFID technology, the contactless FeliCa card is passed over a reader/writer, rather than inserted into a slot.
