FLash video

FLash video definition - computer

A very popular video format on the Web from Adobe. Using the .FLV file extension, Flash videos are played with the latest Flash media player from Adobe as well as other FLV players. Mostly progressively downloaded to users, a large amount of video content on the Web uses this format, including YouTube, Google Video and Flickr (see progressive download).

Video can be also embedded within the traditional Flash movie that is authored in a timeline and published as an .SWF file for playback. However, this is typically done with short video clips as the timeline supports a maximum number of frames that limits the video to less than nine minutes. See Flash.
