Web server software that resides permanently within a hardware device such as a print server. It is widely used in myriad devices because it allows access to the software via any Web browser, typically for configuring the unit and obtaining reports. See ETI and Web server.

This home page does not come from the Internet, but from the Web server built into i-data's EasyCom print server connected to a printer in the network. Any Web browser can access the EasyCom server via its IP address. (Screen shot courtesy of i-data International.)
