(1) (Enterprise Management Architecture) An earlier strategic plan from Digital for integrating network, system and application management. It provided the operating environment for managing a multi-vendor network.
(2) (Electronic Messaging Association, Arlington, VA, www.opengroup.org) A membership organization founded in 1983 devoted to promoting e-mail, voice mail, fax, EDI and other messaging technologies. In 2001, the EMA was folded into The Open Group.
