dynamic disk

dynamic disk definition - computer

A Windows 2000 feature that allows a single disk reference to span more than one physical disk volume. It also allows the disk to be resized without rebooting (resized "dynamically"). When formatted as a dynamic disk, the volume does not contain partitions. A regular disk partition is called a "basic" disk.

The Dynamic Disk is a physical disk that manages its volumes by using LDM database. What is the LDM database? LDM is an acronym of Logical Disk Manager, and it is a hidden database which size is 1MB at the end of the Dynamic Disk. Here http://www.dynamic-disk.com/what-is-dynamic-disk.html for more info.
