DVR-MS definition - computer

(Digital Video Recorder-MicroSoft) Microsoft's proprietary DVR recording format in Windows Media Center Edition, prior to the TV Pack version in 2008. Using MPEG-2 for video and MPEG-1 Layer II for audio, copy protected TV programs must be played back on the same Media Center PC. The TV Pack version switched DVR formats from DVR-MS to WTV (see Media Center TV Pack).
