DVD-VR definition - computer

(DVD-Video Recording) The format for recording and editing video on DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM discs. Introduced in 1999 by the DVD Forum, DVD-VR discs are not finalized as are DVD movies, but they must be finalized in order to play in a standard DVD player. Contrast with DVD+VR. See DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM.



DVD+VR definition - computer

(DVD+Video Recording) The format for recording and editing video on DVD+R and DVD+RW discs. Introduced by Philips for their DVD+R/RW drives, DVD+VR discs are not finalized as are DVD movies, but they must be finalized in order to play in a standard DVD player. Contrast with DVD-VR. See DVD+R and DVD+RW.
