DriveSpace
A disk compression technology from Microsoft that was used in Windows 95/98. Replacing the earlier DoubleSpace compression, it was included in DOS starting with Version 6.22. DriveSpace reduced cluster size from 32K to 512 bytes on 1GB and 2GB drives under FAT16 partitions. See cluster.
