DNS name
The name of a Web server or other resource on the Internet that is identified in the DNS system. It can be the main domain name of an organization, such as www.abc.com, or another address used by the company, such as abc.go.com. In either case, the DNS name is a name stored in the DNS name resolution system so that it can be converted into an IP address. See DNS, Internet domain name and IP address.
