DMX512 definition - computer

(Digital MultipleXed 512) A unidirectional protocol for controlling lights, fog machines and special effects devices in live stage performances. Offering 512 channels per link, DMX512 is based on RS-485 electrical signaling. The target devices are daisy chained together with DMX "In" plugs and DMX "Out" sockets, and cables use 5-pin XLR connectors.
