disk farm
A very large number of hard disks. As more years of computer processing history pile up within the enterprise, databases are reaching staggering proportions. For example, thirty years of sales figures for companies with thousands of products in hundreds of locations result in multiple gigabytes of data. It is not uncommon to need a terabyte disk farm, which would require 250 four-gigabyte drives. See server farm.
