DECnet
Digital's network architecture, which supported Ethernet-style LANs and baseband and broadband WANs over private and public lines. DECnet interconnected PDPs, VAXs, PCs, Macs and workstations. DECnet/OSI was an implementation of DECnet Phase V that provided compatibility with DECnet Phase IV and TCP/IP. In DECnet terminology, a node was an intelligent machine, not just a terminal.
