DAMS definition - computer

(Digital Asset Management System) Software that is used to acquire, index and keep track of the digital assets of an enterprise. Such a system includes data acquisition, media conversion, access rights, backup, usage tracking and rights management. A DAMS may provide the facilities to integrate with third party content creation systems, digital editors and commercial printers. See DAM.
