(Creative Labs, Inc., Milpitas, CA, www.creative.com) A leading manufacturer of sound cards and products that was founded in 1988 by Sim Wong Hoo. It introduced the Sound Blaster card in 1989, which is the most widely recognized sound card brand. Creative Labs is the U.S. headquarters of Creative Technology Ltd., the corporate parent established by Sim Wong Hoo in Singapore in 1981. See Sound Blaster.
