Recording a user's activity on the computer. Computer monitoring programs are used to determine how much time an employee spends on various tasks as well as possible illicit activities. Programs can record keystrokes, chat and instant messaging conversations, links to Web sites and even take screen dumps and Webcam pictures, all of which can be stored locally or transmitted elsewhere.
