COMMAND.COM definition - computer

The command processor in DOS and Windows 95/98. COMMAND.COM displays the DOS prompt and executes the DOS commands you type in. The COMMAND.COM in Windows has been expanded to accommodate long file names. See DOS COMMAND.COM.
