A family of application development systems for Windows from SoftVelocity, Inc., Pompano Beach, FL (www.softvelocity.com). Clarion provides a comprehensive set of tools for development, including a screen builder, 4GL and application generator. It includes a compiler that is known for generating fast executables. It also includes a data dictionary and drivers for popular databases. Clarion was originally developed by Clarion Software Corporation, later to become TopSpeed Corporation. In 2000, the Clarion product line was acquired by SoftVelocity.
