Centrino definition - computer

The first x86 chip platform for PCs. Introduced in 2003 by Intel, the Centrino package comprises the CPU chip, chipset and wireless network module. Initially offering the Pentium M chip, the Celeron M CPU was later added for the value market. Subsequently, the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo CPUs were included in the line with enhanced power conservation capabilities (see Core Duo).
