CDE.INI definition - computer

The initialization file for the Windows version of Computer Desktop Encyclopedia. CDE.INI contains user preferences including screen position, fonts, colors, bookmarks and history. It also contains the paths to the picture directories and CDETEXT.TXT file, which is used to accumulate multiple entries for printing.

CDE.INI is created by CDE.EXE the first time it is run, and it is stored in the program folder for all versions of the Encyclopedia except client/server network versions. In the latter case, CDE.INI is stored in the \WINDOWS folder.
